Over every bill I’d fret,
for every debt fulfilled;
I never would have bet,
my savings would be nil.

Wheel and deal and toil, sweat,
and through sheer force of will;
every obligation met,
having paid every bill.

I sold my house, savings beget,
now I can finally chill;
Expenses slashed, and of yet,
no longer a standstill.

No house, no car, no other threat
ever shall instill
a need so dire to return to debt
I think I’ve had my fill.
